Overview of Job Role:

Strabane & District Caring Services is seeking a Support Worker on a 10 hour contract. The Support Worker will work MONDAY-FRIDAY with hours varying between 9am and 6pm and will work as and when required between those times. Hours to be further discussed during interview.

The Support Worker works as part of a team providing services to vulnerable individuals (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health) and their carer. The worker may provide personal care and low level care tasks to the individual needs of the client assessed by the appropriate professionals, including as follows: Befriending service. Chaperone. Assisted shopping/shopping and small home maintenance job.

Desirable:

6 months experience in formal care setting.

NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent.

Knowledge of Domiciliary Care Minimum Standards.

Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for.
