Service user background:

Female adult service user who has Autism and Learning Disabilities and requires full support with daily activities eg. shopping, attending social activities, cooking and meal prep, social company and interaction, support with personal care, as well as keeping her safe within and outside her home environment and fulfilling domestic chores.The service user is able to understand and can use a relatively small but very functional range of words. She will require repeated prompting and repetitions to carry out instructions and to keep her attention focused. The service user is known to SALT and she has a communication report in place.Our client will require prompting and reminders to fulfil basic tasks, but must be supported in all aspects of her day to day activities.

The role includes, but is not restricted to:

Ability to adapt communication to suit the service user and use clear and concise verbal communication Communicating with her parents Provide therapeutic support Support and guidance with all activities of daily living Provide emotional support and reassurance Making the client feel comfortable and cared for in their home Companionship, accompanying for appointments and social engagements Domestic chores Full support to cook and prepare meals, monitor and guide with eating and drinking Full assistance with personal care and clothing, monitoring of skin integrity Monitoring of health and wellbeing, infections Liaise with all involved professionals Completing daily records Supervision

Candidates must:

Be able to build relationships with service users Highly motivated and enthusiastic and able to be a good team player Have the sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied lifestyle for the service user A genuine desire to make a real and positive difference in people's lives Respect the service users' dignity and choice, understanding of the principles of hygiene, healthcare and health & safety Flexible and the ability to handle stressful situations Able to work to a high standard Have a good level of both spoken and written English, effective communication skills Willing to commit to training Able to work within a team, be reliable Be eligible to work in the UK Must undergo Enhanced DBS (criminal record) check Have good references Driving License (Preferable)
