Rate of pay: 12.60 per hour plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave
Working hours - 7 hours per week.

If you think you have the above attributes, this job, which is based in Kilmarnock, could be perfect opportunity for you. We require an experienced support worker to support a young woman, this is to enable her to live her best life at home and in the community.
Initially the role will be working in the young persons home, getting to know them and their family. Gradually supporting them in the community as a trusting relationship builds.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Support worker on a Thursday evening and a Saturday. Thursday evening to accompany a young person to Centre Stage in Kilmarnock. On Saturday she also enjoys going to the Cinema, bowling and going to build a bear.

To assist the young person to access the community. Take part in hobbies and interests and make friends.
Support with trips (e.g. to the cinema, build a Bear and bowling as required) .
Make sure the young person is safe at all times and report any concerns to her caregivers/parents.
You will be sociable accommodating and friendly, make conversation with the person both in groups and on an individual basis.
You will not use your mobile phone while working unless for work purposes or in an emergency.
It is part of your job to find interesting activities for the person you support to participate in.
You will be required to work on a flexible basis including weekends
You should have a positive, flexible and friendly personality and be honest and reliable.
To comply and operate within the bounds of Health & Safety, manual handling, lifting techniques and first aid. To request training as required,
To attend for work at the agreed times and give appropriate notice if you cannot attend.
To Support the person to attend any appointments such as doctor, hairdresser, podiatrist, if required
Attend training as required.
Skills required
A genuinely caring person with the ability to be friendly and persuasive when necessary. Must have a good sense of humour.
A calm and patient person who will not become easily flustered or impatient
The ability to react to the varying moods of the client in an appropriate way at all times
Able to use own initiative whilst being aware of the client's vulnerability
Strong awareness of respect and dignity for the client and ensuring this always occurs
Excellent communication skills with the client and her family
Previous experience in a caring role would be advantageous
Ability to cook and prepare nourishing meals and snacks.
"Getting on well" with the person is essential
