Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, whether in a nursing home, hospice care, or within the community. Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene. Provide meal preparation and assistance with feeding when necessary. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained. Support clients in behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions. Engage in meaningful activities that enhance the emotional and social well-being of clients. Perform heavy lifting when required, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself. Drive clients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safe transportation. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel. Provide first aid when necessary and ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience in a support worker role or similar environment is preferred. Valid driving licence with a clean driving record is desirable for transporting clients. Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for this role. Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided.
