About The Role

The Support worker role we are currently hiring for will involve working with Service Users who have various needs, from Learning and Physical Disabilities, to Mental Health needs, Autism and Complex needs. This support will be across different environments from Supported Livings services, to Day Centres, and Residential/Care homes.

You will need the ability to attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs and act as an appropriate role model.

You will work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.

Location: Wirral

Pay: \xc2\xa311 - \xc2\xa313ph dependence on experience and duties in the role

Drivers preferred but not essential (area dependant)

Your role:

  • To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of Inspirations.
  • To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which the Service users can feel secure and free from harm.
  • Establishing positive relationships with Service Users and always offering them unconditional and positive regard.
  • Helping Service Users gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
  • Ensuring that each Service Users care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs
  • Attending to practical matters in relation to self-care (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc)
  • Establishing relationships which the Service Users perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding
  • Providing advice, assistance and support on a 1:1 basis to enable Service Users to address past and present difficulties
  • Providing emotional support at times of difficulty or stress
Do you have the following Support Worker Requirements?
  • Are you over the age of 21?
  • Do you have 12 months Support worker experience OR 6 months experience with relevant qualification?
  • Are you caring, positive and compassionate?
  • Are you well-organized and reliable?
  • Do you have excellent communication and people skills?
