Supporting Lives Facilitator /Care Worker

We are looking for a Supporting Lives Facilitator /Care Worker

We currently have a full time and a part time position available

In collaboration with the house coordinator and others you will support our households and the wellbeing of the Cohousers. This will include personal care, homemaking and leisure activities. Patterns of working will be up to 45 hours per week spread over 5 days either in the morning or evening including one weekend day per week. Our current hourly rate is 12.83 (13.17) following successful probation

Principal objectives



Co-create and maintain an environment that serves to facilitate and enliven the processes of community building and personal development for adults with and without learning disabilities. Integrate all aspects of co creating a home for adults with and without learning disabilities as well as employees and volunteers into a house community

Main responsibilities



Supporting co housers with learning disabilities with personal care, nutrition, cooking, cleaning, leisure time Administering and overseeing administration of medication to ensure safe regulatory practice Supporting the creating and caring for the immediate home environment and supporting a harmonious and social home life. Stimulating and nurturing the inner life (conversation / communication, activities and skills). Supporting life skills in the wider environment (leisure, excursions, budgeting, shopping, travelling). Fostering a cultural life including hobbies. Fostering an inclusive and accessible spiritual life as part of cohousing activities. Assisting in further education and learning, where appropriate. Support the updating of Support Plans and Risk Assessments Follow The Mount policies Contribute to meetings. Train, mentor and supervise volunteer co-workers Support and attend family events such as open days etc. Engage in Supervision and Annual Appraisal processes. Support the communication with co houser relatives and professionals Attend Cohousing meetings deemed necessary in order to gain insight into the running of the community and add support to it.

This role is not eligible for a Skilled Worker Visa. All applicants will need to have a valid Right to Work in the UK.
