We are looking to appoint an additional Support Worker to our current team. The post is full time (up to 40 hours) although part time will be considered for the right candidate. There will be the opportunity to pick up additional shifts including sleep-ins to cover for annual leave or sickness.
Support provided will always be in line with current legislation and company policies. The range of duties / tasks undertaken for this role will enable the individuals we support, who have learning disabilities and complex needs, to live their life as they choose or need; this may include physical support, emotional support, social support.
If you have a background in care or support work then great, if you want to get into the care industry then we still want to hear from you as full training will be given.

Typical duties of this position will be:
To provide support in line with Individuals care plans, and any other relevant document.
To follow all guidelines set down for individuals including risk assessments and professional plans e.g. eating and drinking, manual handling, behaviour support.
To communicate in a positive respectful manor at all times with Individuals we support, their family and other professionals.
To support individuals with personal care to the level identified in their care plan maintaining dignity at all times.
To support individuals with the safe handling of medication and monies, dependant on needs identified in their assessment and care plan.
To support individual's independence and growth, making sure not to institutionalise.
To make sure that mental capacity assessments and best interest discussions and decisions are documented and acted upon. Individuals are not restricted unnecessarily and are able to make their own decisions if capacity is assessed as so.
To support individuals to complete domestic tasks such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, washing at the level identified in the care plan and support to learn new skills.
To ensure individuals health care needs are met by proactively making appointments with relevant professionals and acting on their advice.
To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a manager.
To support individuals to maintain and grow relationships with their families and friends.
To record and report all incidents and accidents in line with company policy.
To accurately complete all records that are needed for an individual ensuring they are clear, factual and legible.
To support individuals in their homes, local community and other settings as appropriate.
To undertake all training that is required for the role, keeping up to date with any changes.
To actively participate in team meetings and supervisions.
To ensure all health and safety regulations are observed and take reasonable care of own and others raising all concerns to a senior and/or manager.
To ensure timesheets and mileage claims are completed accurately and submitted on time.
To dress appropriately according to the needs of the individuals supported and that provided PPE is used.
To promote a positive image through a professional approach, both when in the workplace and through all communication including social media where you are identified with Covenant Care.
To complete any other duties deemed appropriate as directed by a senior / manager.
