Job Description

Our organisation is currently looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about supporting people. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in the lives of people with complex disabilities and wants to be an integral part of the team which provides services to positively promote individuals lives.

The successful postholder is required to hold a full British driving licence.



What will I be doing? This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:



Promoting the independence of people we support Supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday. Arranging activities in the home and in the local community Developing residents' life skills and personal interests Helping residents stay safe and healthy Assisting with personal care needs if required Manual handling Supporting residents with medication Ensuring record keeping is always maintained to the required standard and contributing to service monitoring requirements. Supporting with ADLs

Shift Patterns



This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 8:00/8:00 am to 8:00/8:00pm. Please note that working hours may vary from service to service.

What skills and qualities do I need to have?

Passionate, caring and enthusiastic Flexible, patient and non-judgemental A great team player with lots of energy Able to demonstrate good communication skills Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed. Previous experience in working in a mental health setting. Good knowledge of all relevant legislation in relation to mental health and mental health capacity Act. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills with challenging patient behaviours.
