We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, in their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those requiring support due to age, illness, or disability.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects. Provide dementia care and support for individuals with cognitive impairments. Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to relevant healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Previous experience in patient care or home care is highly desirable but not essential, as all training is provided. Knowledge of medication administration practices and first aid certification is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but are not mandatory.

Pay: 12.25-12.50 per hour
