The Whitehaven Community Trust is committed to providing high quality services across all of its activities. The aims of the Homeless Accommodation project is to enable young people between the ages of 18-28 years to live independently and maintain their own tenancies.
Overall job role
To work as part of a small staff team providing training, advice, information in life skills, personal safety and tenancy management to young people with complex needs
To provide Support
To liaise with service users and book appointments
Support service users with registering and bidding on Choice Based Lettings
Support service users with benefits/funds/debt solutions and budgeting
Support service users with direct payments to WCT for rent payments
To make sure all communal areas within projects are clean, hoovering and general tidying when needed
Voiding properties for new move in's
Maintain safety and security within the project
To liaise with outside organisations and security agencies to support service users
Work flexible hours (night shifts if needed)
Send shift reports every day of tasks achieved to Management
Responsible to Chief Executive/Deputy Manager
The Support Worker will be using the hostel mobile phone to communicate with service users and/or outside organisations, have use of the CCTV to monitor the hostel/s and have use of the laptop to create reports.
Duties may vary as new situations do arise within this role, management will oversee delegations.

Pay: 13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
