THE ROLE
We're looking for a
professional and dedicated Support Worker
to join our friendly Day Service in Merston, Chichester.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a person-centred, compassionate way.
Encouraging and enabling service users to develop life skills and independence.
Assisting with personal care and managing challenging behaviours.
Supporting individuals to access the community daily - whether for a walk, shopping, or visiting a place of interest.
Driving the Day Service minibus (manual vehicle) to transport service users to and from the centre and on community outings.
Writing reports and contributing to care plans.
Hours:
The Day Centre operates
Monday to Friday
, with no weekend or bank holiday work. Start times are no earlier than 7:30am and finish times are no later than 5:30pm.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities is desirable, but not essential - full training is provided.
A full
UK manual driving licence
is essential.
Open-minded, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and basic computer skills.
Creativity, empathy, and a good sense of humour.
