New Leaf Healthcare Services provides a "home from home" environment for young people aged 16-21 who have experienced trauma, neglect, sexual and/or criminal exploitation, other forms of abuse, or are at risk of homelessness. Role Overview:

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our young people, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals. This role requires empathy, patience, and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities:



Direct Support:

Provide daily support to young people, including assisting with education, training, employability, independence, health, and well-being.

Safety and Well-being:

Monitor and promote the safety and well-being of young people, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment.

Advocacy:

Listen to and respect the voices of young people, advocating for their needs and ensuring they are heard and valued.

Relationship Building:

Foster strong, trusting relationships with young people to support their development and emotional well-being.

Activity Planning:

Develop and participate in activities that encourage personal growth, skill development, and social interaction.

Health and Medication Support:

Assist young people in becoming independent with their medication, ensuring they understand and manage their health needs.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and clear records of support provided, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective support for young people.

Specific Requirements:



Experience:

Minimum of 12 months of experience working with young people.

Qualification:

Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People / Health and Social Care or equivalent

Availability:

Ability to work shifts on a bespoke rota, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and regular sleep-ins.

Compliance:

All successful applicants will undergo enhanced DBS and reference checks. Full driving licence and access to own car is preferred.

As a Senior Support Worker at New Leaf, you will be expected to work in a way that will promote the Eight Key Principles outlined by the National Children's Bureau.

2. Young people's voice is respected, heard and advocated for so that they can influence the support they receive.

3. Ensure that young people have confidence that the adults who support them understand them by

having the right skills and working effectively together to best meet the young people's needs.

4. Provide and respect young people's own space so that they feel proud of and live in a comfortable, well-maintained and stable accommodation.

5. Provide high-quality, tailored support that sustains the young person's health and well-being.

6. Foster strong, trusting, and meaningful relationships with the young people

7. Support young people to learn and apply skills for independent adult living.

8. Ensure young people feel positive about their future and opportunities as a result of the support provided.
