Ferring Country Centre is a charity which provides a day care service for people with learning disabilities.
As a Support Worker you will directly deliver support to the people we support, enabling them to access the Centre's facilities and activities in a safe, positive and person-centred way.
You will work across our site, supporting people with learning disabilities in a range of settings, including our stables, farm, kitchen, cafe, garden centre and classrooms. Additionally, you will also support our customers to access and engage with the broader community in a range of offsite activities.
Working alongside the department teams across the site, our Support Workers enable our customers to undertake a range of tasks and activities in a safe and supported environment.
The post holder, as a member of the Support team, will represent the organisational values and model good practice at all times.
Normal hours will be 30 per week, working Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 3.30pm (to include a half-hour unpaid break).
To meet the needs of the organisation you may at times be required to work flexibly outside of your normal working hours with prior agreement, and this may include evenings, weekends, special events and public holidays.
Knowledge of learning disabilities and experience of working with people in a social care setting are desirable, though not essential.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we reserve the right to close this advert prior to the published closing date if we receive a suitable number of applications, so please apply as soon as possible.
