Job Description

12.46 per hour | Occasional Hours | Avila House

"It's like watching mini-miracles happen here every day."

That's how one of our team describes the difference they make. If you're kind, compassionate, and ready to help others live life their way, we'd love to hear from you.

A home, not just a service

Our

Avila House Extra Care

service is home to twenty adults with physical and/or learning disabilities. Each of our tenants has an apartment of their own to call home. As a Support Worker, you'll play a hands-on role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to our tenants within our busy, fast-paced apartment building.
You'll support individuals with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and long-term health conditions, helping with all aspects of daily living - from personal care, cooking and cleaning, hoisting and mobility, to accompanying them to medical appointments and days out in the community. A strong focus is placed on empowering tenants to source job opportunities, and develop valuable life skills... no two days are the same.
You'll be part of a supportive team that ensures tenants are safe, comfortable and treated with dignity, while also encouraging independence, choice and meaningful activities. You'll build trusting relationships, and adapt to changing needs and preferences throughout the day, knowing that this is their home and life and you are there to support how they want to live it.
