Job Description


5 x Support worker contracts available - 20 hours per week to work in supported living, mainly in our S6 service and some shifts in S3. Weekend and evening work only.

S6 - We are a group of people with learning disabilities who enjoy living life to the full. We are looking for some people to join our team to support us in the Walkley area of Sheffield.

S3 - are you calm, quiet but fun who can bring a variety of experiences and interests to the team and the gentleman we support here; we are looking for someone to actively support him in to the community and take part in activities.

We would like you to

- Listen to us and help us to make things happen
- Be positive and help us to have fun
- Be patient and able to motivate us as sometimes we need a gentle prompt

- Enable us to be engaged in both activities inside and outside our home
- Help us weigh up information so we can make our own choices

We enjoy doing the following things

- Cooking and baking, we would like staff who can cook and help us to get involved in planning and making our meals
- Getting out and about, we enjoy eating out, going to the park, bowling, cinema, days out, shopping, swimming, parties and social events.
- We enjoy music, films and TV and like to chat about our favourite programmes
- We like to try new things and going to new places and want people who can help us plan and go with us

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
  • Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.
