Looking for your next move within social care? Want to work for an award-winning charity who support people with learning disabilities?
You'll lead a team of 12 Support Workers, encouraging and mentoring them, completing supervisions and appraisals and ensuring staff have all the training and resources they need for their own development and to make positive impact on the people supported at The Cherries. You'll work with your team to keep support fresh, creative and genuinely person-centred. This is a very varied role with exciting plans for growth.
You'll be based at our registered care home in Flackwell Heath (near High Wycombe) where you will be supporting 6 adults with learning disabilities. Together, we've created a family atmosphere and the people we support are very involved with the local community and are welcomed to local events and activities. All the people we support like to take an active role in their lives and have built great relationships and friendships within their community and social groups.
James* likes to walk to the shop and get his paper in the mornings, he likes to take himself for lunch on a Monday at the village cafe, he also enjoys his weekly job at the local charity shop. He appreciates his conversations with the staff team about how his day has been and who he has seen in the village.
Bill* has a creative side, he has a love of lights and lampshades, he loves to be supported to the shops to buy his lampshades, so he can personalise his own bedroom. Bill likes to have lots of interactions with the frontline manager and regularly goes into the office to show them his items and engage in conversation.
John* Loves a beer at the local pub, if there are any music events happening, John is the one to support to them, he loves music, louder the better. He is also very sensory and is amazing at building Lego.
Everyone likes to be a part of in-house activities from cooking to arts and crafts, music sessions and much more.
The people we support have all been here for a number of years and have created a family feel within their home environment. They love to celebrate all occasions: every day is a party. They are looking for a fun, person centred frontline Manager to join their dedicated staff team, who will be hands on in encouraging and motivating the staff to give great support every day, supporting everyone who lives at The Cherries to achieve their ambitions, and creating more opportunities which will have a positive impact on everyone's wellbeing and choices.
Of course there will also be more practical details to your role such as overseeing the rota, completing risk assessments and support plans. You will be an integral part of the management team ensuring the site is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements as well as internal processes.
You'll develop constructive relationships with external professionals, social work teams, families, and the local community. You'll also encourage and mentor your team, completing supervisions and appraisals where you can support staff with their own career development, which in turn will create positive outcomes for the people we support.
