Overview



We are hiring for a professional, enthusiastic Support Worker to join our ever growing Supported Living business. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for our Clients, all who have Learning Disabilities, who love to be part of their community and live independently in their own homes.

Freedom Support have 5 supported living houses, 2 in Market Harborough and 3 in Desborough (approx 6 miles from Market Harborough), All are modern town houses and support 3-4 Clients in each house. You will play a vital role in providing outstanding care and support to our Clients within their supported living homes.
This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by promoting independence, supporting with daily activities, supporting with life skills, cooking, cleaning and washing, whilst ensuring their safety and well-being.

The hours for this position are flexible, but you should be available to work 2 shifts every other weekend, as well as weekday shifts and sleep ins. There are also extra shifts available. Rate of Pay is 12.50 per hour and sleep ins are paid at 65.00 per hour. This equals 177.50 for our standard 9 hour shift.

Responsibilities



Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene. Provide meal preparation and support with nutrition to ensure clients maintain a balanced diet. Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands as needed, a full clean driving licence is required. Support clients in developing and maintaining independent living skills. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being. Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate records of care provided and any significant observations regarding clients' conditions. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols and health & safety regulations.

Skills



Proven experience in care roles, particularly in assisted living or hospice care settings is desirable. Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices. Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Capability to drive safely and responsibly as part of the role requirements. Competence in meal preparation with an understanding of dietary needs is advantageous. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their best quality of life.
