Nicol of Skene Ltd, a respected and long-established civil engineering and groundwork contractor based in Aberdeenshire, is seeking a dedicated

Surfacing Chargehand

to join our experienced team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the supervision of the surfacing teams to ensure works meet standards, comply with contract specification and prevent remedial actions Assist with the preparation and issue of job instructions and ensure daily point of work risk assessment & briefing records are completed correctly. Produce and deliver key job information to Line Manager Ensure that all statutory and contractual requirements are met timeously for all projects under your control Assist Quantity Surveyor/Sites Manager during site visits with measurements as and when required Assist in identifying works outside the contract scope and report to Management and Commercial team. Know, understand and follow the contract programme, and report on progress to Line Manager Know, understand and follow the contract Bill of Quantities, and report on progress to Line Manager Ensuring surfacing team produce high-quality finish and safe site practices Working as part of a team on both public and private sector contracts

Requirements:

Previous supervisory experience in road surfacing or tarring operations preferred Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions Ability to work well within a team environment Attention to detail and commitment to health & safety standards HGV Licence (Class 2 or above

)
