Are you passionate about surgical excellence and driving business growth in the medical device industry? Cochlear is seeking a dynamic and experienced Surgical Account Manager (SAM) to join our UK & Ireland team. This is a unique opportunity to combine your surgical expertise with strategic sales acumen to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
As a Surgical Account Manager, you will be the go-to expert for surgical support and product integration across your territory. You'll play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base, supporting surgical teams, and driving adoption of our Cochlear Implant and Bone Conduction solutions (Baha, Osia, CI). Your ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders will be key to your success.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Business DevelopmentDrive growth by identifying and developing new and existing accounts. Implement strategic plans to shift market preference toward Cochlear solutions. Utilize CRM tools (SalesForce, Miller Heiman) for territory planning and account management. Conduct quarterly business reviews and customer team meetings.

Surgical & Product SupportDeliver expert surgical training and support both in-person and virtually. Provide ongoing education to clinical teams and theatre departments. Support product rollouts and ensure optimal use of Cochlear equipment. Collaborate on UK/Ireland surgical and audiological training courses.

Customer & Market StrategyDevelop detailed clinic plans and growth strategies. Engage with healthcare stakeholders including trusts, boards, and procurement teams. Support professional development programs to expand hearing implant provision.

Team CollaborationWork closely with internal teams and referral growth specialists. Contribute to strategic account planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Champion cross-functional teamwork aligned with global strategies and HEAR behaviours.

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Required Experience and Skills4-5 years of successful medical device sales experience. Strong background in surgical environments and theatre settings. Excellent presentation, time management, and communication skills. Experience in territory planning and management, efficient planning and prioritization of accounts to maximize coverage and impact. Strong influencing and negotiation skills, couple with a solution orientated mindset. Ability to leverage data in driving strong commercial decisions Emotional Intelligence: Navigating high-stress environments with empathy and professionalism. Resilience & Persistence: Staying motivated in a competitive and often unpredictable field. Communication Skills: Clear, confident, and persuasive communication across clinical and business settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent English.

Desired Skills (Something else to grab our attention!)Advanced knowledge of hearing implantable solutions. Background in nursing, medical science, or technology. Experience with SalesForce CRM.
