The role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surveying Engineer to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates or early-career engineers looking to start or develop a career in vertical transportation consultancy.
You will assist in surveying, inspecting, and evaluating lifts and escalators, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards, and contributing to the maintenance, improvement, and long-term performance of new and existing systems. Lift service contract and refurbishment project management assistance would be part of the daily routine. Industry-specific training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site surveys, inspections, and condition assessments of vertical transportation systems, including lifts and escalators.
Support the engineering team in preparing clear, accurate technical reports and documentation based on site findings.
Assist in measuring, monitoring, and verifying system performance in line with British Standards (including BS EN 81, BS 9999) and applicable safety regulations.
Assist in service contract and project management, working alongside consultants, clients, and contractors to support successful project delivery.
Provide technical input into maintenance strategies, repair recommendations, and system upgrades.
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
Ensure all work complies with UK regulations, industry standards, and best practice.
Actively participate in training and continuous professional development to build technical knowledge and industry expertise.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline) is preferred but not essential.
Graduate and entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working both on-site and in an office-based environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

A salary range is provided as a guide and will be adjusted based on the successful candidate's experience and skills.
