Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing detailed maps and reports, and ensuring all surveying activities comply with legal standards and regulations. Travelling to sites across the UK will be a key part of this role.

Essential:


Hold a minimum of 3 years' experience in land surveying within OHL / Underground / Substation infrastructure. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license. Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software, including GPS, total stations, levels, and CAD. Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and legal standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid UK Drivers Licence.
Desirable:


Degree in Surveying, Geomatics or similar or have completed an industry-recognised qualification (HNC/HND) Understanding of ICP and 18th Edition electrical installations.
responsibilities


Attend scoping meetings with clients to confirm project requirements. Carry out pre-work surveys in support of the design and estimating teams. Conduct research to obtain existing survey records, maps, deeds, and other relevant documents. Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and other types of surveys as required. Conduct field surveys and collect data using surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, and levels. Prepare and maintain accurate survey reports, maps, and plots. Analyse and interpret survey data to help determine the most suitable location/route. Utilise computer-aided design (CAD) software and other technical tools to process and present survey data. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to support project design, planning and execution. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards in all surveying activities. Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.
