About the role:



We are seeking a proactive and experienced Surveyor to join our team, responsible for conducting property surveys and assessments, preparing specifications and risk assessments, and managing planned works across social housing stock. The role involves liaising with subcontractors, overseeing site inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and statutory regulations. You'll be expected to use mobile devices for efficient job processing, contribute to project planning, promote energy efficiency, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards. The successful candidate will support cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and uphold our values of equality, confidentiality, and partnership working, while delivering high-quality, cost-effective services that meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and proven experience inspecting and reporting on property defects within social housing. They should be skilled in kitchen and damp work planning, confident using IT systems, and possess excellent analytical and report writing abilities. A high standard of work under pressure, effective communication with the public and colleagues, and the ability to manage their own schedule are essential. Candidates must be capable of making informed decisions, delivering courteous service with a flexible, can-do attitude, and working safely at height and in confined spaces. Desirable qualities include broad construction knowledge, familiarity with social housing defects and AWAABS law, and experience using PDA devices.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
