We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary 12-month position as a Surveyor within the Facilities Management Section. This role is both challenging and rewarding. It presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to demonstrate their aptitude for handling multi-disciplined and diverse workloads.
The ability to deliver multiple projects on time, within budget and to the high-quality standard expected is a must.
Capital Project experience would be an advantage as you may be involved with Capital expenditure projects as well as being able to organise and control planned, and reactive repair and maintenance works on all Fire Service buildings.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Fire Service buildings within a designated area within West Midlands estate
Responsible for the specification, procurement and project management of planned works identified by stock condition surveys
Specify, update and procure maintenance contracts for a variety of legislative and compliance of equipment and services within the West Midlands estate.
Support any strategic or organisational projects from initiation to completion
Experience and skills Essential skills or experience
Applicants should preferably be educated to Degree level or HNC in a building related discipline (or similar professional qualification) or alternatively have gained relevant experience in a similar role.
Applicants must be fully conversant with all current built environment regulations and legislation, including CDM.
Must be computer literate and competent in Microsoft word, excel and teams
A clean current driving licence and your own car are essential as travel will be a core requirement of the role.
Desirable skills or experience
Public sector procurement process knowledge and experience would be beneficial
Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH
Any other estates related training such legionella, working at height, control of contractors
