We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Provide excellent service by interacting with guests when necessary, answering questions about menu items
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant environment
Previous culinary experience, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine, is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques
