Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team in COCORO Highgate only on Mondays and Tuesdays.

( we are looking for a sushi chef for Saturdays and Sundays at Cocoro Bloomsbury so if you can do both positions, then it will be 4 days a week)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, maki, and sashimi, ensuring high quality and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques related to sushi preparation. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, offering recommendations, and ensuring satisfaction with their meals.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role is essential. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is required. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
