Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular emphasis on sushi and Japanese cuisine. Duties

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and care. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, high-quality, and properly stored according to food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment. Assist the team with cleaning mat all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on current culinary trends in sushi preparation and presentation. Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers when necessary, sharing knowledge about the menu items.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on sushi preparation; formal culinary training is an advantage. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
