We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring authenticity and quality in every serving.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability.
Train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
Engage with customers when necessary to provide an exceptional dining experience.
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques, particularly in the context of sushi making.
Strong cooking skills with a solid understanding of culinary principles.
Previous kitchen experience is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with meal preparation processes and food safety standards.
Excellent attention to detail, ensuring that every dish meets high-quality standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
