We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed. Duties
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistic presentation.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Assist in the overall kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques related to sushi preparation.
Skills
Proven experience working in a restaurant kitchen environment, preferably as a Sushi Chef or similar role.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Proficient in various food preparation techniques, particularly in the context of sushi making.
Excellent culinary skills with an eye for detail in presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a kitchen setting.
A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques.
