We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards, while ensuring the highest levels of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and creativity.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality before use.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes.
Experience
Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation and cooking techniques specific to sushi.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role is highly desirable but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
