Working days: Tuesday to Saturday (starting times to be discussed)

Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our venue's standards for taste and presentation. Your expertise in food preparation and culinary techniques will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, with precision and creativity. Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to hygiene practices at all times. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials based on fresh ingredients. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management for restocking. Provide excellent service by engaging with guests, answering questions about the menu, and accommodating special requests.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. Strong culinary skills with a focus on sushi-making techniques and presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure the highest quality of dishes. Previous experience in a fast-paced setting is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide outstanding service to guests. A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to continuous learning within the culinary field.
