We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
Duties
Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional methods and recipes.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled with care.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in menu development by contributing new ideas for sushi dishes and specials.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and kitchen best practices.
Provide exceptional service by ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Previous experience specifically in sushi or Japanese cuisine is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
