We're Maki & Ramen - a growing, Japanese-inspired dining brand known for our homemade ramen and freshly prepared sushi.

At our newest Yorkshire location, we're looking for a skilled and dedicated Sushi Chef to bring expertise, creativity, and precision to our kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your craft, contribute to a vibrant new opening, and grow with a dynamic, expanding brand.

Key responsibilities:

Preparing fresh ingredients to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Creating sashimi, nigiri, and sushi rolls within set timeframes while maintaining presentation and quality. Following company recipes and specifications to deliver authentic flavours. Upholding strict food hygiene and safety standards at all times. Working efficiently with the kitchen team to support smooth service during busy periods.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar professional kitchen role. Strong knife skills and confidence in preparing sashimi, nigiri, and sushi rolls. Ability to work quickly and accurately while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. Knowledge of Japanese ingredients, techniques, and food safety practices. Good organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
