A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sustainability Advisor to join our exciting and growing Sustainability team to manage and record our Sustainable activities in construction. The Sustainability Advisor will report to the Group Head of Sustainability but touches all aspects of the business and will work closely with Environmental, Pre-construction and Operational teams.

Responsibilities

With a passion for sustainability and innovation, the Sustainability Advisor will support the needs of the Project teams, the Business Sustainability and carbon reduction goals, making sure that commitments for delivery are documented and met.

As Sustainability Advisor you will also be responsible for the following:

  • Understanding specific project client key objectives, carbon reduction and the business commitments
  • Develop the site sustainability plan to encompass methods of work, approach and key goals
  • Supporting the site team with delivery of sustainability business objectives
  • Supporting the supply chain on site with training, initiatives and innovation to drive both embodied product and operational emissions to net zero.
  • Monitor and evidence the key BREEAM, NABORS, WELL, LEED and other certifying bodies delivery including meeting with specialist suppliers, sub-contractors, verifiers and assessors.
  • Support in recording, documenting and analysing carbon data, emissions and driving year on year reduction towards net zero.
Qualifications

Degree, HND, HNC or similar in Construction, Services and /or Sustainability

Experience

The Sustainability Advisor will be from a construction related background with a working knowledge of Design, Delivery, Handover and Post occupancy support and evaluation.

The individual will be able to demonstrate the following key skills & competencies:
  • Knowledge of corporate carbon reporting in line with the GHG Protocol for Scopes 1,2 and 3 and familiar with Life Cycle Analyses and embodied Carbon principles and mitigation
  • Good communication skills and ability to work and influence within a team environment
  • Able to translate technical content into layperson language
  • Desire and ability to build relationships and work well with a variety of stakeholders
  • Chair and record meetings at all levels and drive actions
  • Good IT skills; including familiarity with a range of applications
  • Keen to learn and develop, with an ability to challenge process, policy and , identifying more effective solutions
