Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the Sustainability & Continuous Improvement Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability initiatives, and quality management systems across multiple sites in the UK and Europe. This role involves implementing and maintaining our ISO standard, monitoring environmental impact, and supporting the business in meeting regulatory and customer quality expectations. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, sustainability, and best practices across all sites whilst maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Duties
Ensure compliance with UK and EU environmental regulations related to waste management, emissions, packaging, and battery recycling with direction from the HSE Officer.
Conduct environmental and quality audits and risk assessments, ensuring sites meet compliance obligations across the UK, IE, BE, ES, FR, NL.
Collaboration with the HSE Officer to document audit findings, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring sites meet customer and industry standards.
Monitoring the NCR platform ensuring timely closeout of actions.
Ensuring compliance and data reporting for the Environment Agency, ESG, CSRD, DGSA and EPR using Microsoft Excel and Power BI in collaboration with the HSE analyst.
Engage with regulators, local authorities, and external auditors for compliance reporting and inspections.
Work closely with operations, logistics, and sales teams to ensure quality processes are embedded throughout the business.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Develop training and awareness programs for site teams on environmental and quality procedures.
Assisting with support and development of standards and processes.
Performance Objectives
Ensure full compliance with environmental and quality regulations across all sites, with no major non-conformances.
Maintain ISO 9001 certifications with successful audit outcomes.
Implement waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and recycling improvements across the business.
Identify and implement at least three process improvements annually to enhance quality and environmental performance.
Reduce quality-related incidents, environmental breaches, or regulatory non-compliances year-on-year.
Ensure effective communication with site teams, senior management, regulators, and external auditors
Qualifications
Internal Auditor Qualification in ISO14001 or ISO9001 (Lead preferred)
2 years' experience of working in a similar role
