Due to the ongoing growth of our sustainability services we are looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our highly influential built environment Sustainability team in either Bristol or London. You'll be an integral part of our collaborative and growing team, playing a key role in the development and delivery of a pipeline of exciting and complex projects.


From local authorities and universities to masterplan developers and asset managers, we take immense pride in shaping the approach organisations are taking to achieve a decarbonised and climate-resilient future. In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in collaborating with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives, which includes leading workshops and attending meetings. You will also be responsible for identifying and highlighting the most impactful areas for influencing decision-makers, fostering improvement, and defining value drivers.


A key part of your role will involve preparing high-quality energy, sustainability, and climate change reports to advise clients and project teams, supporting crucial planning applications and masterplan developments. This includes effective data management, including setting up, maintaining and analysing robust project databases and calculation sheets.


Due to the ongoing growth of our sustainability services we are looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join either our Bristol or London office to support and provide specialist input with developing low carbon, sustainable solutions for a range of projects from organisational strategy to urban regeneration projects and strategic new settlements.


To have an impact in the role you will:




Work closely with our project teams, guiding current development schemes in relation to environmental sustainability and carbon management; Think innovatively to embed net zero principles and climate resilience into developments; Undertake carbon and wider sustainability assessments on a range of a projects. These will include Energy Strategies, Sustainability Statements and Whole Lifecycle Carbon Assessments; Manage and deliver work to programme and budget, reporting into the project lead; Identify opportunities for growth and assist with our bids for future work; Assist with the carbon/energy element of organisational sustainability strategy development supporting our top clients to achieve long-term sustainable growth; Be able to identify areas for improvement, by setting objectives, targets and measurement requirements Undertake research to assist with the development of innovative new services; Produce high quality written reports; Prepare thought pieces and blogs within your area of expertise; Assist with internal and external presentations; and Attend site visits and project meetings.

About You

Have experience with Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) and Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) calculations and be familiar with OneClick LCA software; Have knowledge of Overheating Assessments and Circular Economy principles; Have knowledge of the planning system; Have a relevant degree at 2:1 or above; Have membership of a relevant professional institution; Have a good knowledge of the planning system; Broad understanding of environmental, social, economic and sustainability trends and drivers; Be committed to continuing your professional development with a willingness to learn and progress; Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; Be personable and professional with high levels of motivation, ambition and drive; Have excellent team-working skills; Be able to build relationships with a range of stakeholders Be commercially minded and take on personal responsibility; Be committed and have an eye for detail; Have an ability to manage your own time and workload; Be proficient with Microsoft packages particularly Excel; and Hold a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel nationally.
