As part of our overarching Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy, Langley UK is seeking a passionate and proactive
Environmental & Decarbonisation Manager
to lead the delivery of our environmental commitments and play a key operational role in reducing our carbon footprint across all construction activities.
This is a pivotal role within our ESG Committee and a unique opportunity to shape the sustainability narrative of a business committed to building better, greener communities. You'll not only manage our environmental performance but demonstrate the real-world decarbonisation impact of our service offering to clients and communities alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage the LUK Carbon Reduction Plan across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
Develop efficient systems for capturing, analysing, and reporting carbon data monthly.
Support compliance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and other environmental regulations.
Manage the Environmental Management System (EMS), risk registers, and statutory audits.
Collaborate with commercial teams and contractors to measure the impact of decarbonisation projects.
Respond to sustainability-related client queries and maintain the LUK ESG Position Statement.
Roll out environmental initiatives aligned to regulatory standards (e.g. PAS 2030/2035/2038, Part L).
Drive sustainable procurement practices across LUK's Business Units.
Identify and secure third-party funding for net-zero initiatives and environmental innovations.
Provide training and CPD sessions internally and externally on ESG and environmental awareness.
Lead the creation and submission of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and other lifecycle analyses.
What We're Looking For:
Education:
Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Corporate Responsibility, or a related field.
Experience & Skills:
3-5 years of experience in a sustainability or environmental role, ideally in the
construction sector
Strong knowledge of decarbonisation strategies in construction project design and delivery
Familiarity with corporate sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI and the GHG Protocol
Carbon literate with excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills
Comfortable working on-site and travelling to client locations to assess project impact
