Summary of the Role



Pembrokeshire FRAME is committed to reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable fashion through high-quality reuse of donated clothing. We are looking for a Sustainable Fashion Retail Assistant who will take a lead role in sorting, valuing, and preparing donated clothing for sale, while supporting and mentoring a diverse volunteer team.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about fashion, second-hand clothing, sustainability, and inclusive community support.

Key Responsibilities



Clothing Sorting & Pricing



Sort, grade, and quality-check donated clothing, shoes, and accessories. Identify key brands, vintage items, and high-value pieces. Price items appropriately in line with FRAME's pricing guidelines. Prepare clothing for retail display, ensuring high presentation standards. Make decisions on the best route for each item (shop floor, boutique rail, textile recycling, etc.). Work towards maximising value and reducing textile waste going to landfill.

Retail Floor Support



Maintain tidy, attractive, and well-stocked clothing displays. Support merchandising decisions, seasonal changeovers, and themed displays. Assist customers in-store, delivering friendly and inclusive customer service. Support the smooth running of the retail area as part of the wider shop team.

Volunteer Support & Inclusion



Support and guide volunteers with a range of abilities, including individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges. Provide clear tasks, encouragement, and positive mentoring. Help volunteers learn skills in clothing sorting, pricing, brand recognition, and retail preparation. Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming working environment.

Sustainability & Community Engagement



Support FRAME's mission to promote sustainable textile practices. Share information with the public about sustainable fashion and reuse. Identify opportunities to divert textiles away from waste. Contribute ideas for improving the clothing department, community engagement, and sustainability messaging.

General Duties



Assist other departments (e.g., bric-a-brac, warehouse) when required. Follow FRAME's health & safety procedures and safeguarding policies. Support monitoring systems that demonstrate impact and track achievements. Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments and two locations.

Person Specification



Essential



Experience in clothing retail, charity retail, or handling fashion stock (or willingness to learn). Strong knowledge or interest in clothing brands, fashion trends, and garment quality. Good eye for detail when sorting, pricing, and identifying quality items. Ability to support and communicate with volunteers, including those with additional needs. Positive, patient, and inclusive approach to teamwork. Organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workflow. Commitment/ interest in sustainability and reducing textile waste. Self-starter, able to suggest , adapt and manage improvement changes

Desirable



Experience supporting vulnerable adults or volunteers. Fashion retail, vintage clothing, or textile knowledge. Knowledge of sustainable fashion principles. Creativity and enthusiasm for improving displays and customer experience. Experience of providing task relevant training
