The role



We are actively looking for an SVP of our communications function in Europe to help lead and develop the brand and communications activity for the European region. This role covers all of our communications activity across the region which covers 26,000 staff and 360 locations in 32 countries. We are in an exciting phase of our evolution as we grow to accommodate our ambition to be the leading end to end supply chain globally.


This role will be managing a large team that covers a number of functions including media relations, internal communications, digital media, brand & content, partnerships, public affairs and corporate relations. The team are taking advantage of the amazing story that is developing at DP World and making sure that we are at the forefront of industry and global news.


You will be developing the long term strategy with input from our global communications team and providing a holistic approach to all three of our pillars; ports and terminals, contract logistics and freight forwarding.


The organisation is going through a huge amount of change and communicating and getting buy in on that change is a key aspect of this role. You will be working very closely with the CEO of region making sure that his key messages are communicated across a variety of channels.


This role will involve daily liaison with the C-Level executives across the region and any recommendations must 'prioritise customers' as well as taking into account needs of other stakeholders and the broader Corporate Affairs and Sustainability agenda.


Sustainability is one of our key platforms and we are becoming leaders within the supply chain space. As part of this role you will be working with partners and media channels to make sure that we are profiling our work in this area.


One of the key challenges for this role is within internal communications. As a fast growing region we endeavour to create a shared culture that allows our employees who are based all over Europe to feel part of a shared vision. You will make sure that internal communications and initiatives reach across all of our employees whether they are based in an office, warehouse or port.


You will also need to provide innovation to help improve business communication targeted at cargo owners in key industry sectors. Alongside this we are looking to secure a leading position on digital media, driving regional and global digital visibility for DP World.


You will also work with the regional executive leadership team to sustain the organisation's 'thought leadership' positions on issues such as future of trade, innovation, sustainability/ ESG and inclusion and diversity.

Key skills and experience include


Extensive experience of leading communications in a B2B organisation across a large geographical region. The ability to create a holistic strategy across a range of business units and cultures. Demonstrable experience of managing change communications in an ever changing organisation. Managing multiple, regional stakeholders with competing priorities. Previously managed a large team that is geographically dispersed. Comfortable with nuance and ambiguity.
