Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Swim Teacher to help us expand our swimming programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging swimming lessons to children aged approximately 4-8 years, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about teaching children to develop their skills within a supportive team. The Swim Teacher will play a vital part in promoting water safety, confidence, and swimming proficiency among participants.
Duties
Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons tailored to the needs of diverse age groups and abilities
Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and water safety procedures
Monitor participants during lessons to ensure safety at all times
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help learners improve their skills
Maintain a clean and organised pool area, adhering to health and safety standards
Assist with organising aquatic programmes and events as required
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding progress and safety concerns
Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments for each participant
Qualifications
Swim England or STA Level 2 qualification
Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably in swimming or aquatic activities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire
Certification in lifeguarding or water safety (desirable but not essential)
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required
Passion for teaching, sports coaching, and promoting water safety
