3 compassionate and experienced female Autism Support Assistants
to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with autism in developing essential life skills, fostering independence, and engaging in meaningful activities. You will work closely with clients, their families, and professionals to create an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes growth, learning, and confidence.
Responsibilities
Support individuals with autism in daily activities, including personal care, social interaction, communication, and accessing the community.
Implement tailored support plans based on individual needs.
Facilitate engaging activities that promote development, such as swimming, arts, puzzles, and educational games.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to families and professionals.
Create and maintain a safe, nurturing environment that encourages participation.
Provide dignified support with personal care needs, including toileting and dressing (e.g., before and after swimming sessions).
Skills & Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Advanced communication skills to support both verbal and non-verbal individuals.
Advanced swimming ability or experience teaching swimming (essential for weekly sessions).
At least
3 years' experience
supporting people with autism and learning disabilities.
Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing diverse behaviours.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physically active and able to keep up with highly active individuals.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexible, adaptable approach to meet individual needs.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle necessary (fuel expenses reimbursed).

Pay: 14.50-17.00 per hour
