We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Swimming Instructor with Pool Plant & Facility Responsibilities to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality swimming lessons to small groups of children while also supporting pool and facility operations. Full training will be provided for technical duties.
Key Responsibilities
As a Swimming Instructor with Typhoon, your duties will include:
Delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality swimming lessons to small groups (maximum of 4 children per class).
Building positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and colleagues.
Performing pool plant duties, including water testing, pool cleaning, and maintenance. Full training will be provided, including the Stockwell Pool Plant Operator Course (Level 2).
Cleaning and maintaining the pool hall, changing rooms, and associated facilities to meet hygiene and safety standards.
Acting as a retained cover instructor, stepping in to cover sessions during staff absences or holidays. On-call retainer arrangements will be agreed in writing.
Ensuring full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies at all times.
Maintaining a professional, punctual, and positive attitude as a representative of Typhoon.
Working Hours
Part-time, including daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Weekend availability required on a rota basis.
Additional hours may be available across other sites in the region.
Estimated weekly hours will be agreed in your contract.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive hourly rate: 17.50 - 20.00 per hour
5.6 weeks paid annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time staff)

Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory: STA or Swim England Teaching Qualification
Mandatory: GCSEs or equivalent
Mandatory: Right to work in the UK
Mandatory: English language proficiency
Preferred: Previous pool plant experience (training provided if not experienced, aptitude and high standards are expected)
Preferred: Minimum 1 year teaching experience
Confident and enthusiastic working with children, communicating effectively with parents
Energetic, punctual, professional, and team-oriented
DBS check will be required due to working with children
Additional Information
This role involves technical and cleaning duties to support safe and hygienic pool operations.
All staff are expected to follow company policies, safeguarding guidelines, and health & safety procedures, in line with UK legislation.
