Swim Teacher - Swim:ED Programme



Location: Various primary school sites in Wiltshire

Salary: 27,300 - 30,225 pro rata

Hours: 28.5hrs - 35hrs per week, term time only.

8:30am - 3:15pm Mon - Fri (plus overtime opportunities)

With fewer than 50% of children leaving primary school with basic swimming skills, our Swim:ED programme is designed to bridge this gap. Through our innovative pop-up pool solution, we bring high-quality swimming lessons directly to school sites, making learning to swim more accessible than ever. By providing instruction in a familiar and supportive environment, we remove barriers to participation and give every child the opportunity to become a confident and capable swimmer.

Job Overview



We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and proactive Level 2 Swimming Teacher to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality swimming lessons, ensuring children meet national curriculum standards and develop crucial water safety skills.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver fun, engaging, and structured swimming lessons to primary school children Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils Maintain and manage the pool area, ensuring cleanliness and safety at all times Assist with the installation and take-down of the Swim:ED pop-up pool Support the ongoing development of the Swim:ED programme Liaise with school staff, parents and the PH ActiveEd team to ensure a seamless experience for all participants Take part in professional development and training opportunities

Experience, Skills and Attributes Required



Personal Attributes:



A passion for swimming education and water safety Strong communication and leadership skills Organised, reliable and proactive Able to work independently and collaboratively Resilient and adaptable under pressure

Knowledge & Experience:



Experience delivering swimming lessons or working with children in an educational setting Customer-facing experience and the ability to build strong relationships Understanding of national curriculum requirements for swimming (desirable)

Qualifications:



Level 2 Swim Teacher Qualification (essential) Pool Plant Qualification (desirable) Paediatric First Aid & CPR qualification (desirable) Lifeguard qualification or NRASTC certification (desirable) Literacy & numeracy skills to Level 2 standard Relevant management qualification (desirable)

Additional Requirements:



Full driving licence and access to transport - you will be required to travel to different schools across Wiltshire each school term. Enhanced DBS check and references required

Pay: 14.00-15.50 per hour
