Swimming Teacher

Job Description

Miles Swim Academy is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and organised swimming teacher to join our learn to swim programme, delivered at Sawley Juniors onsite swimming pool. This is a key part of the expansion of the Academy, and the mission to help all children learn to swim at least 25m before leaving primary school. Your primary role will be to teach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. Term time only on a self-employed basis.

Main Duties:



To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans Integration of the Learn to Swim Framework and programme reward schemes into your classes Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming Evaluate sessions and give feedback Regularly assess each participant's ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates To attend regular meetings with the Coordinator as and when necessary To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Sawley Junior Schools and Miles Swim Academy's site policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc.

Hold a valid National Reach Rescue Award / Pool Attendant Qualification or National Pool Lifeguard QualificationEnhanced DBS checkedSwim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalentJob Types: Part-time, term time Salary: 13.00 to 15.00 /hourLicence:

ASA Level 2 (Required) insurance
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 16.50-20.00 per hour
