This role can be based at any one of the Arts Council of Wales offices in Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen. We are currently working in a hybrid way.

About this role
As a Research Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Arts Council understands, and can report on, the impact of its investment to ensure that we are using our funds wisely. Through the collection and analysis of data, the Research Officer is able to provide information that helps us to assess how effective we are being in meeting our objectives. The information is also used to provide a wider understanding of the impact of Arts Council funding, and of the activities that it supports.
About you
We are looking for candidates that have a degree in a relevant discipline, including statistics and research methods and/or have significant professional experience within the research and evaluation field. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of research and evaluation methods, be highly numerate with good analytical skills, have an understanding of public policy making and project management.
A particular function of the Research Officer role is to manage the survey of revenue funded organisations. You will need to be familiar with research software and database technologies, have high level Excel skills, knowledge of GIS and be a confident report writer.
We're particularly interested in staff who have the ability to work imaginatively and flexibly to tackle the challenges that they'll face - staff who have the initiative and drive to thrive in a busy work environment managing multiple projects.
Welsh language
We work in both English and Welsh. Fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) is desirable but not essential for this post.
