Synchronisation Engineer

The Role
As a Synchronization Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup, integration, and troubleshooting of generator synchronisation systems across various customer sites. You'll support both pre-planned and reactive work, ensuring power continuity and customer satisfaction at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement synchronisation plans for multi-generator and grid-tied installations
Execute synchronisation procedures and perform functional testing of control equipment
Integrate generators into complex power systems, including load sharing and DNO grid connections
Conduct site diagnostics and fault-finding on generator control systems and synchronisation faults
Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle (door-to-door paid)
Accurately document work, service reports, and maintenance records
Collaborate with internal Coordinators for job planning and resource management
Participate in the on-call rota (approximately 1 in 6 weeks, with standby pay)
Adhere to all WBPS H&S, environmental, and quality policies
What We're Looking For
Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (Time-served or NVQ Level 3+)
Strong experience in generator systems or related electrical fields
Familiarity with
synchronisation of multi-generator systems
Knowledge of generator control panels:
COMAP, DEEP SEA, DEIF
Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Comfortable working on
three-phase, split-phase, and single-phase
systems
Experience working with
DNO providers
and knowledge of grid tie-in processes
A background in diesel and electric generator operation and integration
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and colleagues
Experience in a mobile engineering role is advantageous
