The Systems Engineer will provide the system architecture definition for the pending tender opportunities with the UK MOD (Skynet Enduring Capability) and other Milsatcom programmes - covering the space, control and ground segments. We see this as a great opportunity to be part of some diversified and future looking programmes.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Requirements capture and definition from stakeholder needs through to sub-systems; ownership of traceability and verification.
- Verification Validation and Test (VV&T) support
- Ground System level architectural design definition and trade-offs
- Working with Engineering Leads and Partners to define the segment and associated sub-system architectures via integrated Working Groups
- Technical proposal inputs
- Solution Lead for customer and internal governance reviews
- Technical support to bidding teams
- Systems Engineering and project management inputs as required - to support planning, schedule and cost activities
- Inform stakeholders on progress and problem resolution
- Proven ability in the design, integration and roll out of end-to-end digital telecommunications systems (milsatcom desirable) covering space, control and ground segments using Waterfall or Agile methodologies
- Proven ability of defining solutions within an Architectural Framework using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and appropriate tools (EA desirable)
- Engagement with customers and partners
- Working understanding of portfolios in terms of satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, network control
- Robust presentation and writing skills
