Job Title: Systems Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 requirements

Location: Ashton Vale, Bristol (2 days a week onsite)

Rate: Umbrella hourly rate, dependent on experience - \xc2\xa355-80/hr

Description:

Our client have been awarded the contract to manage and operate Skynet, the UK Ministry of Defence\xe2\x80\x99s (MOD) military satellite communications system. This six-year contract, which has an initial value of more than \xc2\xa3400 million, forms part of the MOD\'s \xc2\xa36 billion Skynet 6 programme and will enable them to sustain more than 400 jobs in the south-west of the UK.

Skynet Service Delivery Wrap (SDW) will encompass the operation of the UK\'s constellation of military satellites and ground stations, including the integration of terminals into the MOD network, ensuring they are integrated and supported.

Skynet has been in service since the 1960s \xe2\x80\x93 with the first satellite of the sixth Skynet generation satellite, Skynet 6A, set to be launched in 2025. The contract includes the services necessary to support the current Skynet infrastructure, as well as the successful transition and continuous delivery of service for future Skynet operations.

Role description / task:

  • You will be responsible for the DOORS environment comprising the administration and reporting of all programme requirements
  • This will include the creation, management and administration of:
  • Access Control, Roles and Permissions
  • Establishing the Baseline artifacts/requirements set
  • All modules, folders artifacts and attributes including Types, Properties, Formatting, Review and Storage
  • Link setting, validity; constraints and the resolution of invalid links
  • Requirement reviews and the generation of reports and associated documents
  • You will also support the Assurance Lead and Engineering Manager in the capture and execution and record of VV&T activities. This will include managing the correct verification methods for each requirement and resolving the interactions, conflicts, and trade-offs between requirements, including management of change
Proven Ability / Qualifications / Attributes:
  • Knowledge of using and administration of Requirement Management software, including DOORS and DOORS NG
  • Demonstrable requirements management experience preferably within defence or telecommunications
  • Collaborative individual
  • Knowledge of working to the V-Model
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to champion high performance and inspire others
  • Knowledge of the integration of the DOORS toolset within an MBSE environment is desirable
Additional
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum)
