The System Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of the School\'s data centre infrastructure. This includes rack-mounted servers, Wiring, Virtual servers (VMware vSphere platform), SAN, Fiber Channel zoning, UPS/PDU units, other systems and networks. The post-holder will also be responsible for providing technical support to faculties, staff and students when needed.

The post-holder will be exposed to a wide spectrum of IT projects and will have a chance to work alongside experts in different areas of IT operations. Some upcoming projects are related to venturing into a hybrid cloud environment, migrating from one data centre to another and modernising the existing data centre infrastructure to be more energy efficient.

The post-holder will hold an undergraduate degree or have equivalent professional experience and industry certificates. They will have experience of deploying and supporting server technologies (Linux, Windows server) in a production environment alongside experience of automation of process using scripting or tooling (salt, powershell, python or equivalent). They will have good working knowledge of authentication technologies like LDAP (AD/eDirectory/OpenLdap), Azure AD, Saml, and Oauth. A high degree of personal motivation, including the ability to work independently and organise priorities is essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time and permanent.

The salary will be on the Professional Services scale Grade 6 in the range \xc2\xa342,875-\xc2\xa348,691 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary \xe2\x80\x9cWellbeing Days\xe2\x80\x9d. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
