The University of Dundee\'s Library Services manage open research, scholarly resources, academic support, and study facilities within a Directorate committed to supporting excellent research and teaching activity across all disciplines and stages of research. We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Systems Librarian within Library Services, to lead support for the full portfolio of software and digital solutions relevant to a modern academic library environment for staff and students.

The post holder will support existing teams and library staff to ensure all library technologies are maintained, updated, and used to their full potential. The library relies on software solutions that include the Alma Library Management System, Primo Search System, Leganto Reading Lists System and Pure Research Repository. Physical technologies within library sites include gate entry, RFID self-service, digital displays, and room booking. The website, university app, and social media offer additional opportunities for enhancing the digital experience for users of the library.

A successful applicant will have relevant experience managing the digital operations of an organisation or department and will seek to enhance student experience of libraries using technology. They will exercise specialist knowledge in library systems and relevant technologies, including reporting and analysis to inform data-driven decision making.

Your priorities will include:

  • supporting a high standard of user experience across the library\'s portfolio of digital and software solutions
  • leading the administrative implementation of the Library management system and integrated components
  • managing vendor relationships for key software providers, including support and issue ticketing
  • managing partner relationships with other Directorates, engaging in problem-solving for complex issues and project delivery
  • analysing data and usage statistics to assist with service improvements, identify trends and inform decision making
Who we\'re looking for:
  • experience administering enterprise software platforms and supporting digital technologies in an organisation
  • familiarity with library systems, technologies, trends and challenges
  • experience in user support and issue resolution
  • knowledgeable about current sector challenges
