Our team is involved in every element of People and Finance activity. That includes payroll, casework, referencing and onboarding, through to billing, paying suppliers, and month end activities. It's up to us to lead, support and deliver an excellent service across our core processes including Managing Revenue; Procurement; Project and Asset Management; Finance Processes; People Processes.


Our Business Services teams focus on three areas: Systems and Transformation, Service Delivery, and Business Intelligence.

In this role as Systems Specialist, you will help maintain high-quality master data across various enterprise systems, ensuring seamless integration and performance. You will manage system administration, user support, and process enhancements, working closely with stakeholders to drive operational efficiency.


This role is based in Glasgow and a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.



Building effective working relationships with stakeholders and system users across the business to ensure high quality, professional and consistent service is provided. Developing and maintaining functional and systems related knowledge through regular knowledge sharing and upskilling with appropriate business, policy, and process owners, ensuring that current and valid knowledge gained is captured in knowledge management framework and fed into appropriate training documentation. Providing application administration and specialist knowledge support of several key Heathrow Enterprise, HR, and Finance systems and related processes. Ensuring compliance with Heathrow's policies, procedures, and operating standards. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operational performance and data quality. Supporting system upgrades, testing, and enhancements while maintaining integrity and control of business-critical systems. Providing research, analysis, and insight to support management information needs as required.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels both written and verbally, including ability to influence and persuade others. Proficient in the practical use of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Database), with proven ability in efficient research, analysis, and modelling of data. Analytical mind with focus on delivering great customer service and continuous improvement. Proven record of accomplishment in working with and administering IT systems, with experience in providing expert advice on the application and interpretation of policy and process. Good understanding of system upgrade projects or large-scale reconfigurations. Flexible, self-motivated team player, with ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision.

Ideally, you would also have:



Experience at application administrator level of Oracle Enterprise or Oracle Cloud systems. Experience at administrator level of other Banking, Finance or HR related IT systems. Background in a similar Shared Service or Outsourcing environment.

Working location



Your contractual place of work will be the Heathrow Business Services Centre in Glasgow so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to work.


We also have some hybrid roles with a working approach which offers the opportunity for colleagues to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
